president obama, what do you want, president obama won the popular vote, three and a half million. he won the electoral college by 126-vote margin. that's pretty substantial. he won eight out of nine battleground states. only lost north carolina by less than 100,000 votes. democrats picked up, held on to the senate and everybody said they were going to lose it. not only held on to the senate, picture up two seats in the senate and democrats picture up eight to ten seats -- some seats are still not called yet. in the house of representatives. so it was a romp for democrats. they didn't take back control of the house. but there's no doubt about it. the american people rejected romney and ryan. all right. talk about good democratic members of the congress, back in town barbara lee from california is and she'll be here today. so will donna edwards from the state of maryland and of course, eliot spitzer host of "viewpoint" on current tv joins us as he does every wednesday morning. and here's the deal. here's the question. one final shot at general petraeus. if his e-mails were not secur

we elect presidents state by state. and that's looking good for obama. no matter what you think about the electoral college. by "huffington post" count obama has 277 electoral votes to romney's 206. colorado florida virginia and new hampshire are still tossup states. according to the "new york times," obama has 243 electoral votes to romney's 206. but as calculated by nate silver, author of the 538 blog who called 49 out of 50 states correctly in 2008, nate silver says obama has 296 electoral votes compared to romney's 241. remember you need 270 to win. by any measure obama's well ahead in the tally of electoral votes. that's the only count that counts. silver, by the way also gives obama a 74.6% chance of winning this election. and i don't know about you but i kind of like those odds. we'll keep our eye on the white house for you. president obama has a statement today, i'll be there for it. we'll see you right back here again tomorrow. have a good one. >> announcer: this is the "bill press show."
